What is chiropractic? Dr Glen C. Woodman, DC
Dr Glen Woodman has been practicing for twenty one years. Chiropractic is the third largest primary health care profession in the world. Chiropractors are licensed as doctors, authorized to diagnose and treat conditions concerning the spine, muscles, and nervous system. Seven to eight years of university are required before attaining their Doctorate of Chiropractic. Their education is similar to that received in medical school; however, special emphasis is placed on the musculoskeletal system and its relationship to the nervous system.
Dr Glen Woodman is a highly qualified and experienced chiropractor who graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, England, in 1989. He first practiced in Sweden, then Oxford, England, for seven years before coming to Vancouver. Previous to his European education, Dr Woodman did his undergraduate work at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
What is massage therapy?
Massage therapy is the assessment and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction and pain in the body. Massage techniques include Swedish, neuromuscular, trigger point, myofascial release, deep tissue, and sports massage.
The massage therapists at Harbourview Clinic are provincially Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) and have completed a minimum of three years massage therapy program at an accredited college.
Prescription foot orthotics
Prescription foot orthotics are medical appliances that are custom made in a lab to correct your specific foot imbalance. Dr Woodman is trained to provide biomechanical assessments and casting for these custom orthotics. Most extended health care plans cover the costs of foot orthotics.
