Meet Our Acupuncturist: Amanda Buckle

Amanda Buckle is a Registered Acupuncturist with extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She completed her Acupuncture diploma in 2009 and went on to finish the full Practitioner of TCM Program at the International College of TCM in Vancouver. Her academic background also includes studies in biology, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology at Capilano University.

Amanda continues postgraduate learning in several health-related areas, refining her approach with each new course. Many people describe Amanda’s approach as steady and reassuring, which can help create a comfortable environment. She takes the time to understand each person’s concerns, lifestyle, and goals.

An Explanation of How It Is Used

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture points connect along pathways known as meridians, which are believed to influence the flow of Qi, often described in TCM as the body’s vital energy. Many people seek this method with the intention of easing tension or encouraging relaxation.

From a modern viewpoint, these points may stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue. Research suggests this stimulation may encourage the release of the body’s natural chemicals, influencing how the body responds to discomfort or stress. People often describe feeling more relaxed, grounded, or mobile after a session, though experiences vary.

Common Reasons People Try This Modality

Many visitors ask about this service for concerns such as:

  • Muscular tension, headaches, or general stiffness
  • Stress, sleep concerns, or emotional strain
  • Sports-related aches or repetitive-strain patterns
  • If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, it’s wise to follow up with your primary healthcare provider.
